Torrent Trackside Expand Rotherham Operation

Torrent Trackside, a company which supplies specialist equipment and machinery to the railway maintenance industry has moved its Rotherham depot to larger premises.
In a letting arranged by Rotherham commercial property agents, Burgess Commercial, the company has taken a new lease on a 13,000 sq ft light industrial unit at the Meadowbank Industrial Estate moving its operation from a smaller unit on nearby Masbrough Street.
The Staffordshire company has seven centres across the UK and provides a range of services to the railway maintenance industry including plant hire and staff training.
Paul Collier, manager of the Rotherham depot for Torrent Trackside, said: "The increasing growth of our business meant we were looking to move to larger premises. We chose to work with Burgess Commercial of Rotherham, who are specialists in industrial lettings, and helped us to secure this unit, which is ideally suited to our purposes.
"It has two trailer-height doors which will enable us to separate the equipment coming in from that going out, increasing the efficiency of our operation.
"The location also provides excellent access to the motorway system, which is important in minimising the time it takes to transport the machinery out to customers."
Neil Keally, director of Burgess Commercial, added: "It is always good to be able to work with national businesses like Torrent Trackside that are choosing to expand their South Yorkshire operations.
"We were very pleased to assist them in finding premises which would enable them to achieve the ideal operating environment for the movement of specialist hire equipment.
"This high specification unit also offers modern office facilities that reflect the aspirations of this successful, growing business. Torrent Trackside will also benefit from Meadowbank Industrial Estate's location which gives easy access to the motorway network via Junctions 33, 34 and 35 of the M1."
Enviro Thaw expands and takes on new premises in Rotherham
A rapidly expanding company which supplies an innovative type of road de-icing product has moved to the Northfield Industrial Estate at Rotherham after
leasing a unit through property consultants Burgess Commercial. Enviro Thaw has moved into a 6,558 sq.ft warehouse unit which incorporates first floor offices, as part of its exciting expansion plans. The company began trading last year and has already created five new local jobs.
Enviro Thaw has been set up by husband and wife team Karrina and Ian Oldale and their son Sam. Ian and Sam also run a landscaping business, SCO Paving, and were aware of the damage caused to paved and road surfaces by the rock salt which is commonly applied as a de-icer in the UK. They recognised the huge opportunity which existed to save local authorities money by supplying a salt-free de-icing product which did not corrode roads and paved surfaces.
After investigating products from around the world, the Oldales discovered a highly effective de-icing formula used in China which was not yet available in the UK. They purchased the European distribution rights for the product and launched Enviro Thaw during 2010. The company has grown rapidly and several local authorities including Rotherham MBC are now trialling the product. It is also available to the public through Amazon and Buildbase depots.
Karrina Oldale, Sales Director of Enviro Thaw, said: “We are delighted to have moved to this excellent new base which combines warehouse facilities with modern offices and meeting rooms. Our previous office unit had become too small as we needed to take on additional staff, so this marks a significant stage in our growth as a business. Burgess Commercial’s efficient, professional service was a great help in progressing to this point.”
Neil Keally, Director of Burgess Commercial, added: “It is fantastic to hear about a local success story such as Enviro Thaw and we were very pleased to assist them in finding premises in which they could bring together their administration and distribution operations and accommodate their expanding workforce. The Northfield Industrial Estate is also ideally located, giving easy access to the motorway network via Junctions 33, 34 & 35 of the M1”.
